Motivational Mondays (June 8)

I've got a refreshing start to the week. After having traveled of course, I feel a bit re-energized and have plenty to look forward to this week.

The Mud Run is on Saturday! That's both exciting and intimidating. I wasn't able to get a run in down in Costa Rica so I'm going to have to do a bit of a cram session this week. An interval run today, a long hopefully outside run on Wednesday and shorter runs crammed in on Tuesday and Friday. That's all I have time for.

Still, I feel confident that I'll be more than ready for the Mud Run. For starters, it's six miles and I could go out and run six miles today and not pay for it too much afterward. I've got to do some workouts this week though because I want to be as prepared as I am for it. I think I've done well overall to run and prepare for this but this last week of inactivity wasn't the greatest preparation.

Last year, the distance was intimidating as I'd not run more than seven miles before the Mud Run and had only been able to run six miles a few times. This year I've done well to elevate my distances. I'm more excited about the event this year than last year as I don't have the nerves I had last year for it.

The Mud Run is a great event and in fact has already been ran twice this year. Actually, twice just this past weekend. June 13 is the third running of the Camp Pendleton Mud Run, the first two were held on June 6 and 7 respectively.

Here's a link to a blogger I found who participated in the event on Saturday. She took actual in-race pictures so you can see for yourself what the Mud Run looks like. Some great shots in there, and she looks like she had loads of fun.

There's also some other random video I found of the event that I'll post later this week as well.

Anyway, I'm off for a week-long cram session! And I'll be back later today to post more Costa Rica pictures. I think I can blog about Costa Rica all week!
