Don't panic! You will be fine! Seattle r...Ok. Don't panic! You will be fine! Seattle rain is NOTHING like a midwest rain. It RARELY pelts down. I wont say it never does, but it is rare. I would say forget the beanie, just my opinion. It will be a thick wool and the water will run down and into your eyes. Ugh. you dont want that. In the rain a hat with a bill is a must for me. It will keep your face dry and your eyes clear. I have seen people put a handkercheif, like a doorag, under a hat to keep the ears warm. I ran last Saturday with my ears exposed (it was 46 degrees outside) and I was fine.

Moisture wicking is important but you can survive witout it as long as you dont wear the wrong thing. i.e. sweat pants are a no no. Have you ever worn wet sweats? They weigh about 34 pounds. think thin and light weight and tight for your legs. Since you are in beutiful socal this is foreign to you...sorry. :) But for the top something non-cotton would be good. Long sleeves too! I wear my Garmin 405 and it does ok when getting wet. I just put it under my shirt/jacket sleeve and protect is as well as I can (the 405 is not exaclty water proof, the 305 I understand is???). Also if you can socks intented for wet weather is a must. My socks were sloshing last weekend and Tall Mom was dry as can be.
The rain here is gentle, usually. It will be fine, you will be fine. I hate to tell you but running in Seattle the hills scare me more than the rain!!!! :) Any more questions feel free to ask! You get used to that nice weather!

I hope it doesn't rain for your run. My biggest problem would be the water getting in my eyes (sorry if I gave you something new to worry about!). I'm with Tats, I'd be looking for indoor and underground tracks in the area. Did you try googling it?

Have a great trip!Willoughbyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15260987219988824912noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-155167444174882391.post-34401146895191961962009-11-19T11:20:49.648-08:002009-11-19T11:20:49.648-08:00tights... ha, you ladies are funny :/
I thought a...tights... ha, you ladies are funny :/

I thought about an indoor track or running underground (there's supposedly an underground part of the city up there) but figured that it would be fruitless to search for that. Still, you never know, right?

I actually have everything I'd need except for a moisture wicking shirt, and after having thought about it and researched it, one of my shirts might be a moisture wicking material. I wore it during the Mud Run in 08 and it held up greatly. I was surprised by how well it held up.

I found a few shirts online (thanks Lisa!) at some stores near my house for relatively cheap so I might run by there... well, drive, though I'd like to run there... and pick one up.

I have running pants too but I might just brave it because I'd rather be wet in shorts than wet in pants. And I do have a visor (thanks TG!) so that part is set.

Now I just have to sing this song for the next three days...

Rain rain go away, come again some other day

Rain rain go away, come again on Monday... because I'll be back in Cali :)L.B.https://www.blogger.com/profile/03932409909043501781noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-155167444174882391.post-37388811788777131862009-11-19T09:33:27.658-08:002009-11-19T09:33:27.658-08:00Wait, you don't have any wicking running tops?...Wait, you don't have any wicking running tops? You need to get some or you are gonna have chaffing where you don't want to have chafing.

You can get wicking tops at Marshalls, TJ Maxx and the like.

If it rains anything less that what that paragraph describes then you are in luck.

Good luck on Sunday and I'll definitely be praying for no rain.Lisahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00082536183912603694noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-155167444174882391.post-8046589041716437092009-11-19T08:58:42.272-08:002009-11-19T08:58:42.272-08:00If it means buying a load of new running stuff tha...If it means buying a load of new running stuff that you may not ever use again, I would skip running out in the rain and find an indoor track. (as a side note, at the start of my 10K in may in started to rain and it was a nusiance! have clothes you plan to change into afterwards sitting by the heater b/c you are gonna be cold) good luck and safe travels!tahoegirlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01362617498229659452noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-155167444174882391.post-32113953701397072672009-11-19T07:12:40.193-08:002009-11-19T07:12:40.193-08:00Does Yvie have tights that go with your pink shirt...Does Yvie have tights that go with your pink shirt?

I'm sorry...I could NOT resist.Raoulysgirlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08656303112052173326noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-155167444174882391.post-59147566135465058622009-11-19T04:56:22.297-08:002009-11-19T04:56:22.297-08:00I'm not sure if that short story is the best t...I'm not sure if that short story is the best thing to have floating around in your mind on Sunday, especially if it is raining.
