Shout Outs

Couple of shout-outs for what's turned out to be a lazy Saturday morning.

* My friend and blog reader Anne (aka Tahoe Girl) signed up for her first marathon! If all goes well, she'll run her first marathon in October as she signed up for the Chicago Marathon. That's actually a race I would love to run someday, so I'm anxious to hear all about it. Also, I'm anxious to follow along Anne's progress. She will tackle her first half-marathon later this spring and will run the Camp Pendleton Mud Run in June!

I'll definitely be pulling for Anne!

* I was given the Sunshine Award by my blog buddy Lisa of Discovering the Meaning of Stonehenge (a runner's journey). I guess you could say I met her since we ran past each other at Surf City. We greeted each other somewhere along the path that leads along the beach, and she was going strong.

Lisa smashed her PR, finishing Surf City in under four hours (3:57:17 to be precise). Not sure when her next marathon will be but she'll do great whenever and wherever that is.

* Another blog buddy who conquered the 26.2 beast was Morgan of Caution: Redhead Running. Morgan also destroyed her PR, improving from four hours and change to 3:56:11 at the Gasparilla Marathon in Tampa Bay a week ago. Read about it here.

Morgan rocks! I'm sure she'll tackle the distance again sometime soon, and perhaps set a new PR as well. Go Morgan!

Wow, great times! As someone who had never run for 4 hours straight, that sounds incredible.
