Doesn't it feel like the days of the year as just flying by? Or is that just me? It feels as if the calendar is moving ever so quickly, and before we all know it, we're going to find ourselves smack in the middle of what I consider the most dreadful month of the year, January. If you have a January birthday, you probably don't consider that month terrible... or you might... but I think it's always such a letdown after Christmas that you can't help but feel depressed or angry or bummed or whatever negative emotion you can think of.
Anyway....
Before we get into the throes of 2010, I wanted to take a look back at 2009 and the year I had right here on my blog. I figure since you all are such loyal and fabulous readers that you wouldn't mind if I set aside some time and space to look back on the Muddy Runner year. It's only going to supplement the usual daily (or twice-daily) posts so I won't just shut down the blog and mail in the rest of the year, because then my productivity around the house might increase... but that's another story for another day.
Beginning Sunday, I am going to give to you the Muddy Runner Dirty Dozen, my fancy way of saying my 12 best posts of 2009.
Why dirty? Muddy... dirty... a bit of a theme.
Why 12? Well, I chose 10 originally but had so many left over that I couldn't just leave them out. It was a tough choice to make, to omit some posts but I did so. I pored over statistics, checked and double-checked my facts, drew up charts and graphs, researched... okay, maybe I didn't put that much energy into it, but I went back month-by-month and selected some posts that I felt most proud of, that drew a lot of attention, that my longtime readers might enjoy re-reading and my new(er) readers might enjoy reading for the first time.
I mean, I posted A LOT this year. So you bloggers with whom I did not cross paths until recently, you all missed A LOT! And I know nobody really goes back and reads the archives (maybe one or two posts here or there I suppose) so what better way to get the essence of my blog than by reading over the top posts of 2009?
Anyway, the countdown is done for the most part. There is still some heated debate over a few posts and positioning and things like that but that will culminate soon enough. I tried to put an emphasis on things that happened earlier this year but some stuff from October and November managed to squeeze itself in there.
I hope everyone enjoys it as much as I enjoyed bringing the posts to you in the first place and reviving them for the purposes of this countdown. Number 12 will be on Sunday so keep an eye out for that.
