My 20-mile run is in the books!
We finished in 3 hours 44 minutes, which is right around where we wanted to finish.
I still have to process the run and see how I feel, but overall I'd say it went great. I will have a full run recap probably tomorrow so look out for that. But I will tell you now that I was extremely worried and nervous about the run all day Saturday but I focused and prepared this morning like I usually do and knowing I had the encouragement and support from my family, the Lopers and all my blog buddies helped and made a difference. I had the pleasure and honor of running with my blog buddy Angie of Angie Eats Peace for the run and that helped a lot.
I'll also tell you that at Mile 15 or so I started to doubt myself. Five miles at that point seemed a long ways away.
Still, it is all part of this learning process that is my marathon training. And now I have crossed into an important part of it, into the land of high mileage.
And even though I am worn out and exhausted, I'm going to have an extra bounce in my step because of that.
