Race from nowhere

I'm running in a 10K this Saturday!

I was not expecting it but my brother recently returned from a month-long vacation in the Middle East... yeah, you read that right. He and his wife went to Egypt for two weeks, followed by week-long trips to Jordan and Israel. We've seen his pictures (some of the thousands of pictures they took) and the trip looked interesting enough.

Anyway, he apparently wants to stretch his legs and run and what better way to do it than a 10K?

This actually I believe will help jumpstart my training schedule for my half-marathon; I think it will give me a bit of a taste for the race itself, so I can get pumped up for running another race in a short amount of time.

It's out in Seal Beach, Calif., which hopefully means there's some nice scenery of the water and such. I've ran one 10K before, well two but the Mud Run was a 10K on steroids, so I don't really count that. I'm excited to run it because when I ran the other 10K, I hadn't yet run more than seven miles before. I ran seven miles a couple of weeks ago and it didn't seem that bad, and this is obviously less than that.

We'll see how it goes but I'm jazzed for it. This will be the mid-term... nah, not even that. It'll be the Chapter 12 test before I take my final exam on April 19. We'll see if I get a passing grade or not.

Have a great run! I hope you get a good time (or, at least better than your brothers!).

Thanks for the encouragement Tattoos and Teething Rings. I'm going to train even harder now so that I beat Luis. Not that we're competitive or anything...
