It's still a long time away, right? The marathon isn't anytime soon, is it?
I'm not starting to get jitters about it or anything. Me, over-worry??? Nah... you must be thinking of some other blogger.
Ahem.
(whistling)
Okay, I've been known to make mountains out of mole hills. I've over-thought and over-worried about things since I was little. So it's no surprise then that I am starting to, just now feeling, just now getting around to begin the worrying process over the marathon.
Let me get this out of my system now...
Holy crap, I'm running a MARATHON!!!
That's like 26 miles, right?
Um, 26 point 2 to be precise. It's going to be a solid four-and-a-half hours of running if I'm lucky; if not, that could extend closer to five.
If I'm LUCKY I will run for four-and-a-half hours!!!
Talk about bad luck...
Yet, that race is on Feb. 7, and that is still a looooong time away. I mean, we haven't even hit Christmas for crying out loud. Let alone New Year's. Well, it will be here soon enough, before I know it I imagine, but we have to get 2009 out of the way first.
So why am I beginning to fret? Why am I acting like I need to start getting my stuff together for Surf City? Like it's this weekend already...
Because I got this from my pace leader.

Make sure you wear something (shirt or hat) to identify yourself as a Loper... This is needed to so we can encourage one another along the course...
For finish line pictures: Do not stop your watch until you have passed the finish line (it will only be a 1 or 2 second difference). You don’t want to be looking down at your watch for your picture.

I had to re-read the last lines, the part about finishing. I mean, she actually expects me to finish the race? I don't think she realizes how long the race is.
And this isn't even half of the e-mail. Literally. I'm going to split it up between this post and another one, because I almost choked on the whole thing when I read it the first time. And the second. And it hasn't gone down any easier in any of the other readings since then.
I have to concentrate on breathing now.
And why is my body shaking?

Wow! That's a lot of gear! Make sure you got the nips taken care of!
Maybe if you start worrying now, it will be out of your system by February. Half of what we worry about never happens. And the bad stuff that does happen are things we would have never thought of.
JMom is always the voice of sanity and reason!
Take a deep breath and relax! If anyone can accomplish a monster goal, it's you, L.B.!! I think you need to take a look at a picture of yourself from your pre-weightloss days and see how far you've come. You can do anything you set your mind to. Those pictures prove it.
That is some list!
Of course you will be finishing, and I can't wait to hear about it and see the pictures! :)
OMG, you CAN totally do this. I mean if the Biggest Loser contestants can do it, it'll be a walk in the park for you, Mr. Speedy. I get the jitters though; they make the race more exicitng and worth all the training. Go L.B.!!!
*deep breath* You can do it...HOLY CRAP! 26 miles?! I mean, you can do it...
You can do this! The Lopers really prepare you well, just do what they say and you will be fine :)
